POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for developing Tenneco NVH Performance Materials (Clevite Elastomers) customer strategy and managing expectations to achieve Company and Customer deliverables. Major elements associated with this position include leading Sales team members to develop and execute overall Sales strategy, selectively secure new business opportunities, partner with cross-functional teams (i.e. Engineering, Program Management, Operations) to successfully launch new or existing programs, improve platform profitability, drive continuous improvement activity and serve as the voice of the Customer to Tenneco and the voice of Tenneco to the Customer. This person serves as the primary customer interface for all business transactions and related commercial and/or program concerns.

PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES

  • Generate short, mid-term and long-term strategic and tactical plans to achieve Company objectives
  • Perform as the key liaison between the Company and the Customer
  • Serve as the lead negotiator during difficult or senior level commercial negotiations
  • Coordinate global customer plans and communication activities as necessary to achieve organizational results
  • Generate and execute plans to manage, grow revenue, and achieve profitability targets for OE production and service contracts
  • Ensure plans exist to achieve key customer deliverables including annual cost reduction targets, delivered part quality, program milestones, warranty, VAVE activity and product performance expectations
  • Partner with program management to ensure accountability and adherence to the NPI process for launching new projects and executing customer engineering changes
  • Guide and assist Engineering and Operations coworkers to meet Company and Customer deliverables
  • Lead commercial team activity in support of TVM initiatives
  • Develop and execute an annual operating plan and departmental budget
  • Cultivate and direct a team consisting of Key Account Managers to achieve departmental objectives
  • Manage and administer all compensation, performance alignment objectives, individual development plans, talent reviews and training requirements with each direct report
  • Ensure compliance to all Company policies and procedures
  • Manage and implement BOS, lean and continuous improvement activity for customer accounts
  • Initiate and coordinate activity with all functional areas as deemed necessary to obtain Team, Company and Customer objectives.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in an automotive OEM or Tier I environment
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Sales or Commercial role
  • Successful track record of leading and developing a high performance team
  • Excellent verbal, written, and professional presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a team oriented, diverse, dynamic, and execution focused environment
  • Strong understanding of cost and financial impacts
  • Must demonstrate and exhibit leadership skills which drive projects to closure
  • Proven success in forecasting sales trends, new products entering the market, and “voice of the customer” to present new product development ideas to Engineering team
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines to achieve positive performance results for the organization
