TITLE:                                    UPR Final Inspection & QA Supervisor

DEPARTMENT:                  UPR Final Inspection & QA

REPORTS TO:                     Operations Manager

SHIFT:                                   Primarily 1st Shift (Flex hours per business needs)

On call for all 3 shifts, including weekends

                                                 

JOB SCOPE:  The Final Inspection / QA Supervisor reports directly to the UPR Plant Manager/Operations Manager. The Supervisor is accountable and responsible for managing departmental safety, environmental controls, 5S, development of production associates, plant production including assisting QA engineering in all aspects of UPR ring quality and departmental cost controls.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Instill a “Team First” mentality among all employees
  • Foster employee engagement by encouraging and supporting employee development.
  • Provide direction and support for hourly production employees in a designated area(s).
  • Maintain a high standard of professional knowledge, ethics and practices when working with customers, suppliers, peers, subordinates, support supervisors and other key stakeholders.
  • Coordinates staffing requirements.
  • Ensures safety rules are followed.
  • Achieves productivity targets.
  • Maintains quality within established specifications.
  • Arranges for repair of equipment.
  • Maintains discipline within area and plant.
  • Provides for on-the-job training.
  • Supports a Lean environment (5 S).
  • Identifies cost savings opportunities.
  • Administers other personnel functions including annual performance reviews.
  • Promotes Quality throughout the facility and with the leadership team. Assists in problem solving/ root causes analysis tools as well as monitoring, planning, implementing and promoting the quality systems with all levels of the origination. Works with the team for long-term solutions.
  • Assist with internal and external customer & supplier audits. Visit customers and suppliers to build partnership. Assist with on-site visitor support.
  • Assist with TPR audits, including visits to Japan facility for QA and supervisor training and presentations.
  • Assist with Customer complaints /corrective actions and follow-up. Internal corrective action follow-up, including assistance with sorting and preparation of alternative shipments.
  • Responsible for UPR Job Instruction and Form systems (Complaint Pro software)
  • Responsible for overseeing UPR specific gages, maintaining and calibrations.
  • Assist in preparation of new part launches, including quality confirmation of new events and creation of customer requested documents, etc.
  • Be a project leader for various projects assigned by Operation Manager.
  • Responsible for all three shifts
  • On call 24/7 for facility concerns
  • Emergency Response Coordinator
  • All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

  • Minimum of associate’s degree preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous Team Lead or Supervisory Experience
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
