ABOUT THE ROLE:

As Supply Chain Manager, you lead the synchronization of production, materials, and logistics to achieve operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost. You champion disciplined execution and lean principles by building a high-performing, adaptable team that is focused on continuous improvement. Leveraging data-driven insights and a hands-on approach to problem-solving, you enable long-term success and set the standard for collaboration across the business.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the site’s supply chain to consistently meet or exceed the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost (SQDIC) targets. Create rigor in daily management, escalation routines, and issue resolution that will continue to raise the bar.  
  • Manages customer demand input, customer communication and FG delivery. 
  • Inventory management (incoming material, WIP, FG): FIFO (if applicable), bank development, vendor managed, pay on consumption, excess, obsolete, physical inventory, cycle counting, etc. 
  • Ensures process are in place to support IATF audit requirements: Shipping/receiving, customer service, production identification, warehouse/material flow/ (5S) /warehouse racking, line-side replenishment process, customer specification requirements, incoming customer requirements (order intake), scheduling and supplier releases. 
  • Lean Supply Chain Implementation: Transform the site’s material flow by embedding Lean Principles and Practices. Deliver speed and simplicity through pull systems to improved warehouse and logistics processes. As an early adopter, pioneer better-than-best-in-class supply chain processes and breakthrough projects that position the plant as an internal benchmark across Tenneco globally. 
  • Team Development: Builds a team that thinks end-to-end and takes ownership of outcomes, recognized as trusted problem-solvers and future leaders. 
  • Drive people development and coaching to enable goal cascading and elevate performance. 
  • Data Visibility & Control: Enhance system usage and data reliability to enable better planning, faster decision-making, and reduced variability across the supply chain. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or similar field. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in leading end-to-end supply chain management, preferrably in a manufacturing setting.  
  • Strong background in driving Lean transformation within supply chain functions, linking Lean Principles with supply chain strategies. Simplicity while eliminating waste, implementing pull systems, and leading lead-time reduction is essential. 
  • Demonstrated ability to support complex product launches and phase-outs with excellence in planning and execution. 
  • Proficient in ERP systems.
  • Strategic vision and communication skills related to supply chain objectives. 
  • Ownership, proactive approach.

  • Must be able to make occasional trips to manufacturing sites and customers by air and by automobile.
  • Able to be on call for customer and manufacturing sites
  • Able and willing to work around chemicals, coolants, oils, moving equipment, and electrical power.
  • Ability to sit for an extended period of time (2 or more hours).
  • Ability to clearly give and receive information through verbal (speaking & hearing) and written forms.
  • Ability to closely examine and visually inspect parts and data.
  • Ability to walk and move about, stoop and bend.
  • Works in all areas of the plant where dust, noise, and odors typical of the manufacturing environment exist.
