Quality Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Customer interfacing for quality concerns and issues
2. Develop and maintain quality systems required to provide customer satisfaction
3. Advanced Quality Planning interface with customers
4. Oversee receiving inspection
5. Customer liaison visits
6. Recommend changes in methods used to ensure product quality and manufacturing efficiency
7. PPAP submission
8. Assist in QMS support
9. Supplier development and corrective action feedback
10. Customer presentations
11. Cost reduction activities
12. Employee training for quality issues and SPC
13. Customer corrective action and follow-up
14. Internal corrective action follow-up
15. Management communication and feedback
16. Communication of customer requirements to manufacturing and management
17. Process development
18. Conduct/ Monitor gauge R&R studies, machine capability and /or long-term capability studies
19. Assist with warranty claims
20. Support to a product line 
21. Capital Projects
22. Working with all other Tenneco Plants
23. Other duties as may be assigned

EDUCATION, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE

24. Bachelor’s or Associate Degree with five or more years’ experience in a related position
25. Quality experience in manufacturing environment or equivalent
26. Strong communication, computer, and organizational skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

27. Must possess or have the ability to quickly learn the quality requirements of the area.
28. Effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with all levels of the organization.
29. Must have good computer skills and the ability to learn multiple programs.
30. Analytical thinking skills and above average math skills.
31. Must be willing to work other shifts as required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to extreme heat. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, chemicals, coolants, oils, and electrical power.

PPE including, but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toe shoes required in designated areas.
