JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing production and material planning to support value stream objectives. Create production schedules and material releases to support customer demand and level scheduling for manufacturing.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and distribute production, work, and shipment schedules.
- Compile reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.
- Interface with manufacturing with respect to schedule controls, inventory management, capacity utilization and customer needs
- Plan shipments and arrange for carriers to deliver product to our customers.
- Order appropriate quantities of raw materials while working within our inventory goals.
- Monitor inventory to FG, WIP and raw targets. Adjust targets for changes in volume and priority.
- Monitor material deliveries to minimize expedite costs.
- Create production schedules for all OE, new product and Service demands for assigned product.
- Manage SAP planning and inventory control parameters as defined by supervisor.
- Support material flow by defining PFEP and assisting with supermarket and delivery route development.
- Develop pull systems with suppliers
- Cycle count as needed, and perform other material audits, as assigned.
- Analyze obsolete/slow-moving inventories and make recommendations for disposition.
- Work with Engineering, Program Managements and Purchasing to support launch activities.
- Some weekend work may be required to support physical inventory and cycle counting
- Will require after hours availability if material shortages occur.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Mgmt; Business Mgmt; or equivalent.
- And/Or minimum of 5 years Materials/Manufacturing experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of inventory management and/or materials planning experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in manufacturing, automotive preferred.
- Strong computer, analytical, problem solving, and communications skills.
- Skilled in basic computer software (word processing, spreadsheets, SAP)
- Must be well-organized, have good oral and written communications skills.
- Forward thinking skills and ability to troubleshoot constraints.
- Ability to maintain composure in fast paced work environment.
- Strong Excel skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to sit frequently for extended periods of time.
- Ability to move about the plant in both the office and manufacturing areas.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
- Manual dexterity for computer work.
- Ability to communicate in an effective manner.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office environment – includes, but not limited to, artificial lighting, computers, telephones, desks, temperature controlled.
- Manufacturing environment – includes, but not limited to, artificial lighting, machine/equipment noise, some welding exhaust, non-controlled temperatures, and PPE required.
- Some travel may be required
