JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the transportation of all materials and equipment via powered industrial vehicle (PIV) to each cell operation allowing continuous/expeditious production.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate forklift, read and follow directions, and respond quickly in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Perform the above within acceptable quality, quantity, performance and safety standards.
  • Use Epic Scanner for material movement in SAP.
  • Transport materials and baskets to and from work cells as needed to maintain continuous production.
  • Overtime as required/requested.
  • Load and unload trucks, dump scrap, move machinery, etc. as requested.
  • Perform safety checks and basic preventative maintenance daily on the forklifts.
  • Follow safety regulations at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 year experience with one or more PIV type (tugger, stand-up, sit-down)

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to acquire forklift license in timely manner
  • Knowledge of safety regulations
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal directions and charts
  • Flexibility and ability to respond quickly to numerous requests and paging announcements
  • Alertness and awareness of surrounding activities in all directions

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Flexibility to work long hours and other work schedules as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Extensive standing or sitting, walking, climbing, stooping, bending over, reaching, twisting, arm wrist and hand motion, pushing, pulling
  • Manual dexterity
  • Good visual ability
  • Frequent skin exposure to chemical – based fluids such as coolant, drawing compounds, lubricating oils, etc

  • Adaptability to train to perform on multiple PIV types.
  • Basic communication, teamwork, and effective interaction with supervisors & co-workers
  • Decision-making and problem-solving in a fast-paced work environment, including making timely choices within workflow constraints and understanding when to escalate.
  • Independent task completion – ability to complete work independently without constant supervision or direction
  • Safety and situational awareness in a high-pedestrian environment

  • This job is performed on the production plant floor and may be in pedestrian-heavy areas
