POSITION SUMMARY:
Set up, trouble-shoot problems, change and adjust tooling on the Fuji machines to meet blue print specifications, production and quality standards and to assure safe operations. Train other employees to operate Fuji machine correctly and safely.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform as a team member of a cellular operating group and respond to other employees and supervisor’s requests and assist other employees as needed.
- Handle all materials and tools and have operating knowledge Fuji tube form machines. Employee must be able to perform preventive maintenance, set up and make changes adjustments to tooling and Fuji machines to assure the capability of meeting production and quality standards and operate safely.
- Identify problems and apply effective problem – solving skills and mechanical ability to take corrective action.
- Use Lean principles, Quick Change Technology, Total Productive Maintenance, and Material Flow to help our plant run more efficiently.
- Employee must perform his/her job within acceptable safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in plant policies, handbooks and applicable work instructions.
- Perform SPC on parts from Fuji and make adjustments as needed
- Identify weld defects and understand welding processes to be able to accurately trouble-shoot welding problems and defects.
- Overtime as required/requested.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up, change and adjust tooling on the Fuji machines to run different part numbers and correct production or quality problems to meet specifications and quality standards.
- Trouble – shoot problems and perform minor repairs and adjustments on Fuji machines
- Log changes in tooling and Fuji machines into SPC computer system or chart.
- Train new Fuji Operators on preventive maintenance and proper use of Fuji machine
- Ability to obtain fork-lift license in timely manner, which includes a medical certification by a Tenneco provided medical professional, transport and load steel blanks and tooling as required
- Operate overhead crane
- Assist the team in 5s advancement.

CRITICAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge and ability to operate all machines on all lines.
- Ability to set up and adjust all tooling and functions of all machines to make changes and adjustments to meet specifications and quality standards of parts.
- Mechanical and Electronic skills
- Good math skills
- Knowledge and application of SPC, visual quality inspection and ability to use and read calipers and gauges at all machines and work stations on each line
- Ability to work on own without direct supervision but able to respond to directions and job assignments
- Work well with others on teams and throughout the facility
- Ability to communicate effectively to Machine Operators, Team Leaders, Production Leaders, Engineering Maintenance, Quality, etc.
- Ability to trouble – shoot machine and tooling problems and take corrective action
- Flexibility to work long hours or different work schedules and respond to problems, changes and job assignments
- Ability to work in a team environment with other employees
- Ability to read, write and understand work orders, technical documentation and diagrams, directions and safety regulations
- Employee must possess high school diploma or GED, must demonstrate mechanical skills, and sufficient ability to read, write and communicate to accurately complete production, SPC and other paper work and to work effectively with other employees
- Welding Background
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Varying temperatures (cold to hot )
- Frequent skin exposure to chemical – based fluids such as coolant, drawing compounds lubrication oils, etc.
- Wet, slippery floors in some areas
- Weld exhaust fumes at welding stations
- Small, cramped work space at some machines
- Fast – paced work environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Good visual ability
- Extensive walking, stooping, bending, twisting, arm and hand motion
- Manual dexterity
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
