BASIC FUNCTION: Direct the manufacturing operations involved in the production of cylinder liners. Incorporate customer purchase orders into a realistic manufacturing plan that will insure delivery of product on a timely basis. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supervise employees and assign work to meet production schedules; provide shift-to-shift continuity.
  2. Enforce plant rules covered by labor contract; resolve labor problems.
  3. Maintain two-way communications between management and hourly employees.
  4. Enforce safety rules and oversee housekeeping. 
  5. Meet predetermined annual goals in the area of labor efficiency, productivity improvement, cost reduction, scrap reduction, safety performance, and absenteeism.
  6. Schedule and acknowledge delivery dates on customer purchase orders while striving to meet customer requirements
  7. Monitor production capacities on a regular basis and communicate with management as required to insure sufficient capacities                                       are available to manufacture scheduled product.
  8. Coordinate manning and overtime requirements to insure a flow of product to meet forecasts and customer delivery dates.
  9. Meet plant objectives for stock investment of work in process and finished goods.
  10. Participate in the progressive system improvement activities relative to production planning, and stock investment control.
  11. Coordinate the logistics and transportation of finished goods to meet customer delivery dates.
  12. Communicate with Federal Mogul Departments to establish shipping and packaging needs to meet customer requirements.
  13. Other duties as assigned.
  14. The person assigned to this job has the authority and responsibility for the tasked designated in the EMS (Environmental Management System) procedures and for the tasks described below.
      • Understanding and assuring conformance with the plant’s Environmental Policy as it relates to their job responsibilities.
