BASIC FUNCTION: Direct the manufacturing operations involved in the production of cylinder liners. Incorporate customer purchase orders into a realistic manufacturing plan that will insure delivery of product on a timely basis. In doing so, sucessfully work directly with Supervisors, Maintenance, and Engineering, Accounting, and HR to ensure production goals are met.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise employees and assign work to meet production schedules; provide shift-to-shift continuity.
- Enforce plant rules covered by labor contract; resolve labor problems.
- Maintain two-way communications between management and hourly employees.
- Enforce safety rules and oversee housekeeping.
- Meet predetermined annual goals in the area of labor efficiency, productivity improvement, cost reduction, scrap reduction, safety performance, and absenteeism.
- Schedule and acknowledge delivery dates on customer purchase orders while striving to meet customer requirements
- Monitor production capacities on a regular basis and communicate with management as required to insure sufficient capacities are available to manufacture scheduled product.
- Coordinate manning and overtime requirements to insure a flow of product to meet forecasts and customer delivery dates.
- Meet plant objectives for stock investment of work in process and finished goods.
- Participate in the progressive system improvement activities relative to production planning, and stock investment control.
- Coordinate the logistics and transportation of finished goods to meet customer delivery dates.
- Communicate with Federal Mogul Departments to establish shipping and packaging needs to meet customer requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- The person assigned to this job has the authority and responsibility for the tasked designated in the EMS (Environmental Management System) procedures and for the tasks described below.
- Understanding and assuring conformance with the plant’s Environmental Policy as it relates to their job responsibilities.
- Understanding identified facility Significant EMS Aspects relating to their job and conforming to related facility operational controls.
- Understanding and assuring conformance with facility EMS Legal and Other requirements relating to their job responsibilities.
- Suggesting appropriate modifications of facility EMS documents to the EMS coordinator.
- Reporting any observed facility non-conformances to the EMS coordinator.
- Supporting and offering to their supervisor or EMS coordinator suggestions for the improvement of the facility EMS.
