Basic Function: Functions as plant’s first authority in all matters related to environmental, health and safety compliance. Acts as liaison with all Federal, State and local environmental, health & safety agencies and coordinates all necessary reporting requirements. Contributes to the attainment of plant safety goals. Assists Corporate EHS staff and local management in the development, implementation, review and continuous improvement of sound EHS policies, procedures and programs. Also assist in the comprehensive Quality Management System for OE liner manufacturing that enables attainment of objectives in product quality and cost control; and that meets customer needs and expectations.

Specific Responsibilities:
TECHNICAL: Accident investigation, job hazard analysis, machine safeguarding analysis, medical emergency response training, knowledge on ergonomic assessments, problem solving techniques

Principal Working Relationships: Works with all plant and joint venture management, salaried and hourly employees. Work directly for Quality Manager with matrix reporting through HR. Maintains positive relationship with Federal, State & Local safety and environmental agencies.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in EHS related area (Environmental Engineer/Technician, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Hazardous Material Management, etc.) desired. High School diploma with 2-5 years prior direct EHS experience may be considered. Equivalent experience may be substituted for the specified education requirement with the Human Resources Manager making the determination as to what constitutes equivalent experience.
