Primary Purpose
Apply appropriate welding processes to meet specifications. Inspect and repair welds to support the production and assembly of exhaust pipe components. Perform as an active team member in performing other tasks within the cell. Tends to one or more machine tools, special purpose machines, industrial robots, or hand welder to machine metal work pieces to specifications. Meets and exceeds production rate.
Duties
- Lifts work piece manually or using hoist and secures work piece in fixture or loads automatic feeding device.
- Starts machine, engages feed, and observes operation.
- Mig welds product parts to specification either by machine or manually.
- Inspects and measures machined work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.
- Moves machine controls and guides to adjust machine.
- Replaces worn machine accessories such as cutting tools or brushes.
- Adds coolant to machine reservoir and turns valve to start flow of coolant.
- Files, sands, or shapes machined parts.
- Cleans machined parts.
- Tends machines and equipment other than machine tools.
- Records part flow.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
- Successfully pass MIG welding test.
- Effective communication skills required, both verbal and written.

- Successful proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and follow all manuals and standardized work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively multi-task.

- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Will be exposed to Weld Dust which contains CrIII and trace elements of CrVI, while being provided Tyvek full suit, N95/N100 Compliant Full-Face Respirator, and other PPE.
- Possible skin exposure to Weld Dust, Paints, Chemicals, Cleaners, and other industrial fluids, all registered in the on-site MSDS.
