JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading and coordinating all manufacturing-related activities within the department, including Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Quality Systems, daily operations, preventive maintenance support, productivity, and employee engagement. Ensures alignment with plant goals by developing people, driving continuous improvement, and delivering results in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures a safe, clean, and compliant work environment aligned with EHS and quality standards.
- Executes production schedules to meet customer demand for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Monitors downtime, scrap, efficiency, and productivity metrics and drives improvement actions.
- Supports preventive and daily maintenance activities in coordinaJtion with Maintenance.
- Coaches, develops, and motivates employees through regular feedback and performance discussions.
- Promotes accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partners with HR, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to support operational goals.
- Communicates expectations, goals, and performance results clearly and consistently.
- Supports employee engagement, cross-training, and succession planning efforts.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- Two to five years of manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred
- Strong background in automotive manufacturing environments preferred
REQUIREMENTS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, quality systems, TPM, and Lean principles.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel preferred).
- Ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment including standing, walking, and accessing equipment for extended periods
- Ability to work around industrial equipment safely
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying physical positions (bend, reach, climb) occasionally
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to variations of noise, dust, temperature, and industrial equipment
- Required use of PPE (safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection)
- Combination of office-based work and hands-on shop floor support
