JOB SUMMARY:

Operations leads will be part of the direct manufacturing team and will spend approximately 95% of their time performing the same duties as other operators or welders in their work area.  Approximately 5% of their time will be spent performing other tasks such as changeovers, troubleshooting issues with the line, first piece acceptance and training in the cell.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs tasks / standard work of production operator or welders in the work area.
  2. Understanding of safety policies, practices and rules that apply to assigned area, including Hazcom labels, MSDS information, LOTO procedures. 
  3. Promotion of Safety within in the cell and primary contact to ensure proper reaction to and reporting of injury and/or illness.
  4. Communicate staffing needs to Production Supervisor.
  5. Monitoring of job rotation schedule and escalate where issues arise.
  6. Provide first response to line problems.  Document problems, resolve when possible and follow-up with appropriate resource or group to ensure problem is corrected.
  7. Demonstration and encouragement of teamwork among associates.
  8. Conduct and/or coordinate training of associates, act as a mentor and coach.
  9. Facilitation of team to ensure build sequence follows documented standardized work.
  10. Monitoring and maintenance of 5S in the workplace and escalate where necessary.
  11. Assist with changeovers, troubleshooting and first piece inspection processes.
  12. Provides daily update on operations to Supervisor.
  13. Monitor the usage of operating supplies.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

Minimum of High School diploma or equivalency is preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:

1 year manufacturing experience

  8. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn basic PM and minor machine adjustment.
  9. Analytical problem solving, facilitation and decision making abilities.
  10. Demonstrated positive performance and attendance record.
  11. Demonstrated professional and ethical practices.
  12. Ability to organize work under constant demands and changing priorities.
