Primary Job Function

 

Inventory Management - Ensure stock management as per company policies and procedures and accuracy thereof within the warehouse. Ensure that inventory in the operating system (SAP) always reflects inventory on the warehouse floor.

 

Essential duties & responsibilities

 

  • Must comply with all EH&S regulations for the protection of the environment and maintain safe working conditions.
  • Policies, procedures, and work instructions must be adhered to for quality assurance and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and analyze reports regarding inventory balances, overages and shortages.
  • Counts and reconciles randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis.
  • Compiles, verifies, and reports periodic statistical information to management regarding trends in customer escalations as related to inventory.
  • Assists in developing solutions to shortages, overages and inventory discrepancies.
  • Manage the inventory workflow by conducting cycle counts.
  • Researches misplaced or unaccounted for product.
  • May assist with training other employees as directed by Shift Lead or Supervisor.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Manage and control annual stock take to 99.6% accuracy.
  • Set up stock dates and teams.
  • Communicate stock take timing to all stakeholders.
  • Acquire all resources for a succesful annual stock take.
  • All variances accounted for.
  • Ensure all IS requirements are fulfilled for stock take.
  • Manage and control inventory cycle counting stock take to 99.6% accuracy.
  • Manage daily and monthly adjustments.
  • Conduct audits on Stock on Hand.
  • Daily Stock on Hand reports.
  • Weekly Cycle count report to DC Manager.
  • Annual stock report communicated to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure all Material Handling Equipment is in working order.
  • Ensure all personnel operating MHE are fully licensed.

Education, experience & skill requirements

 

  • Minimum 3 year tertiary qualification in logisitics
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years experience warehouse and inventory processes
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to manage a team.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Knowledge of SAP/WMS, SAP EP1 and understand workflow processes and procedures.
  • High level of computer competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization in a professional manner. Be able work independently and possess good organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability and willingness to work alternative shifts as required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be exposed to heights and may occasionally need to lift and/or move heavy objects. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
