Job Summary:

Supervises program buyers responsible to successfully launch programs; secures competitive bids for new sourcing nomination based on defined bidder lists, Costing and negotiation skill. Ensures close communication between Global Purchasing Commodity teams, business unit, program management, application engineering and manufacturing. NPIS participation; daily ECM delegation; aligns tooling payment terms, material and logistics protocol, risk assessment and manufacturability reviews.

Job Description:

  • Coordinates suppliers on new parts development for Proto and Series development for product launches.
  • Provides active representation on the project teams- PM/Engg & supplier follow-ups until SOP +90 days to ensure Quality, Delivery, Cost support to program SOP launch.
  • Having Good know how on technical processes and their cost evaluation for best cost negotiations with suppliers to meet program target.
  • Negotiates technical and / or supply agreements with suppliers involved in "early supplier involvement" to ensure Tenneco design and developed technology is protected.
  • Utilizes supplier selection in alignment with purchasing strategies and new product performance requirements.
  • Drives value analysis / value engineering activity during launch phase.
  • Supports improvement of supplier launch procedures to minimize inventory obsolescence and supports lean manufacturing needs in alignment with operational expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
