 JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Manager-EHS will be responsible for site level implementation, and maintenance of EHS systems, programs and initiatives to support Tenneco’s conformance with applicable EHS legal and other requirements and to minimize EHS legal risks and liabilities.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent is responsible to provide site level EHS and Operational teams within the Plant. Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinated and consistent implementation of Tenneco’s EHS policy, procedures, standards and guidance documents, programs, and initiatives, EHS Management System, and other enterprise requirements.
  • Analyze EHS legal obligations and risks and develop initiatives and action plans to address those obligations and risks, including but not limited to environmental permits, submission of required reports, and maintenance of data are properly managed.
  • Implementation of work permit system, contractor and visitor safety management program.
  • To advise usage of proper & good quality PPE at workplace. Coordinating safety Awareness & Events. Organizing trainings & awareness
  • Evaluate and assess the internal EHS incident reporting process/system including participating in root cause investigation, development of corrective and preventive action plans, communication of lessons learned and usage of electronic incident reporting tool.
  • Identify, monitor, track, drive, and report leading and lagging EHSS metrics and KPIs metrics to ensure site level engagement and transparent communication. 
  • Participate in and support corporate EHS audit program and other internal assessment measures for all applicable Tenneco locations.
  • Collaborate with all Regional Manager, to ensure communication of information on EHS best practices, lessons learned, and other success stories.
  • Coordinate the collection and submission of the company’s energy use, greenhouse gas emissions and water use initiatives. 
  • Develop and present site-level EHS trainings in line with EHS training matrix/deployment plan(s) covering both legal and Tenneco EHS requirements.
  • Facilitates process of industrial hygiene, ergonomic evaluations to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and Tenneco requirements. Specific attention is needed to evaluate and ensure compliance with local EHS requirements.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with governmental authorities on matters of mutual concern including voluntary certification (e.g., ISO 14001 and 45001 registrations)
  • Facilitates plant team with investigations and analysis of accidents and incidents, and support to identify actions and follow-ups to ensure timely completion of all identified actions.
  • Ensures timely communication, escalation and reporting of events and actions in EHS IS, and timely completion of actions by action owners.
  • Ensure environmental permits, submission of required reports, and maintenance of data are properly managed at the site.
  • Oversee operations of ETP an STP as per Statutory Requirements.
  • Submits EHS reports to the Plant Leadership, Regional EHS Manager on the EHS Performance.
  • Emergency response actions dealing with the environment, employees, or the community.
  • Collecting and reporting data related to environmental, health & safety performances, contributing to the organization's overall ESG/Sustainability reporting.

 

EDUCATION:     

Master of Engineering in Occupational Health and/or Safety or Diploma Course in Industrial Safety from RLI or equivalent.

Relevant advanced degree and certifications preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:    

Minimum of 10-15 years of experience with an emphasis in environmental, health and safety program management and currently manage a team of 1-3 people.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  

 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and proficiency in local languages preferred.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environmental requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment, walking, standing, and other motion-based activities.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental, health and safety legal requirements.
  • Strong background in hazard identification, risk assessment, accident investigation and development of corrective actions / risk reduction measures.
  • Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven facilitation skills including the ability to influence others.
  • Strong team-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills including ability to manage projects and to track projects through completion.
  • Demonstrate good understanding of latest relevant EHS legislation.
  • Fluent computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience in the automotive industry a plus.
