Job Summary
Tenneco is seeking an experienced Ethics and Compliance professional to lead and manage the corporate ethics and compliance function across its India operations. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for all ethics and compliance-related initiatives, concerns, and matters within the region. The role is critical in fostering a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability—one that encourages speaking up and strictly prohibits retaliation.
The position reports to the Executive Director and Associate General Counsel – Ethics and Compliance (U.S.), and will work in close partnership with and be accountable to the Compliance Officer of Tenneco India entities.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of Tenneco’s ethics and compliance program in India.
- Continuously assess and enhance the effectiveness of compliance controls, training programs, and regional policies.
- Promote a strong ethical culture aligned with Tenneco’s Code of Conduct, with a focus on anti-retaliation.
- Respond to compliance concerns raised via the hotline or other channels; analyze trends and recommend improvements.
- Review and escalate compliance approval requests, particularly those involving anti-corruption risks.
- Apply regional cultural insights to enhance the impact of global compliance initiatives.
- Identify and address ethics and compliance risks across various business functions.
- Design and implement regional compliance initiatives to ensure adherence to the Code of Conduct and related policies.
- Conduct risk assessments at regional, country, and program levels; develop corrective action plans and track progress.
- Monitor key compliance controls at local and regional levels; collaborate with business units to resolve issues.
- Deliver engaging ethics and compliance training and communication programs.
- Support internal and third-party audits in collaboration with the Internal Audit team.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of compliance experience preferably within publicly listed companies in India.
- Experience in legal, compliance, or internal audit departments is preferred.
- A law degree is mandatory.
- Demonstrated commitment to integrity and ethical leadership.
- Proven ability to build strong cross-functional relationships while maintaining independence.
- Expertise in conducting investigations and delivering compliance training.
- Strong communication and influencing skills; ability to drive consensus and change.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled in simplifying complex legal/compliance issues for diverse audiences.
- Excellent written communication skills, including report writing and training content development.
- Quick learner with the ability to present legal scenarios clearly and accessibly.
- Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
