In this role, you will be responsible to design, manage, and continuously improve regional logistics flows, aligning strategies with global procurement and shaping the logistics commodity strategy. You will optimize lanes, implement milk runs, and strengthen partnerships with carriers, 3PLs, 4PLs, and forwarders. You will also develop and monitor KPIs, mentoring supply chain teams, and driving cost efficiency, building a resilient, sustainable, and customer-focused logistics operation that delivers measurable impact.

 

Who are you?

  1. Region Logistics Expert: drive logistics excellence by implementing milk runs, engineering efficient lanes, and maximizing truck and container utilization. Manage traffic flows with carriers, 3PLs, 4PLs, and forwarders to cut costs, boost on-time delivery, and build a resilient, high-performing transportation network. Development and control over regional budget by plant and consolidated.
  2. Carrier & Partner Strategist: builds strong, accountable relationships with carriers, 3PL, 4PL, and forwarders, setting industry-leading standards in cost, service, and compliance.
  3. Continuous Improvement & Strategic Impact: benchmark logistics performance against industry standards, collaborate across procurement and supply chain plant operation to drive sustainable transport solutions, and build resilient contingency plans ensuring cost efficiency, utilization, and reliable on-time delivery.
  4. KPI-Driven Operator: governs daily metrics on freight spend, on-time delivery, claims, and utilization, ensuring performance consistently surpasses customer and business expectations.
  5. People Development: develops and mentors plant supply chain teams, enhancing capabilities to maximize transportation efficiency and spread expertise across the region for sustained performance.

  • Procurement & Sourcing Teams: by collaborate on carrier, 3PL, freight forwards, and 4PL negotiations and selection, embedding logistics commodity strategy that strengthen sourcing power driving competitive advantage.
  • Supply Chain Leaders & Planners: through the designing of optimal and reliable lanes, reducing lead time and increasing frequency to support inventory reduction and ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Finance & Controllership: deliver transparency in freight spend and rate governance, ensuring cost accuracy, audit readiness, invoicing control, and alignment with financial budget targets and cost saving generation.
  • Site Leadership & Operations: securing reliable inbound flow and enhancing dock efficiency, you will enable production to have interrupted flow of materials and efficiency on indirect labor.

Experience:

  • Logistics Leadership & Strategy: proven track record leading regional FTL, LTL, and freight forwarding operations, with experience designing and executing transportation sourcing strategies aligned to global procurement and cost-saving targets, while analyzing flows, developing efficient lanes, and implementing milk runs and consolidation programs.
  • Carrier & 3PL/4PL Management: skilled in building strong relationships with regional carriers, 3PLs, 4PLs, and freight forwarders, fostering partnerships that drive service excellence, cost optimization, and consistent compliance performance across the logistics network.
  • Utilization & Cost Optimization: demonstrated ability to increase truck and container fill rates, reduce empty miles, and lower freight cost per ton-mile, with proficiency in optimizing dock scheduling, transit times, and congestion management for reliable delivery and business continuity.
  • Process Improvement & KPI Governance: hands-on experience with transport management system, load optimization, and real-time visibility tools; applied continuous improvement to streamline workflows, embed global playbooks, eliminate waste, and improve OTIF, on-time pickup, freight spend, and claims rates.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: experience partnering with supply chain operations, procurement, and finance/controllership teams to align regional logistics strategies and execution aligned to business objectives, ensuring cost control and service reliability.
  • Talent Development: experienced in building and mentoring high-performing logistics teams through non-direct reports, fostering capability growth, strengthening accountability, and advancing leadership development across regional operations.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or related field; advanced degree or certifications (APICS, CILT) preferred.
  • Systems & Tools: Proficiency in transport management, ERP, freight audit and payment systems; ability to leverage digital solutions for logistics optimization.
  • Communication & Adaptability: strong communicator, skilled at influencing stakeholders and presenting strategies, KPIs, and outcomes with clarity, while thriving under pressure, navigating complexities, and adapting to evolving business needs to prevent disruptions.
  • Languages: Fluent in English; additional regional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, French, German, Mandarin) highly valued for cross-border collaboration.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: proven ability to mentor direct and indirect teams, align cross-functional groups, and drive accountability, improvement, and consistent performance across diverse geographies.
  • Strategic & Analytical Skills: adept at aligning regional logistics with global strategies, balancing efficiency, cost, sustainability, resilience, and analyzing transportation data into actionable strategies.
