 General Statement of Responsibilities:

 

Provide mechanical and electrical support to the plant machinery and equipment.

 

 Specific Duties:

 

 

  1. Troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical problems.
  2. Fabricates sheet metal parts and safety guards for equipment.
  3. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
  4. Moves, aligns, levels, and installs machinery.
  5. Builds, installs, and maintains electrical system and equipment for plant.
  6. Responsible for the startup and shutdown of specific plant machines and equipment.
  7. Understands and operates according to TS16949 work instructions for area.
  8. Participate in process improvement.

 

  1. Maintain housekeeping in the department in order to facilitate a neat, safe, and orderly work environment.

 

  1. Has the responsibility and authority to prevent non-conformances relating to product, process, and quality systems including stopping production when suspect product is being run.  Job specific authority and responsibilities for quality are defined in the work instructions for that job/department.

 

  1. Perform all other duties as assigned by a supervisor.  Assist management as appropriate, to ensure all environmental and safety regulations as well as best practices are met and/or exceeded.  Ensure the proper segregation and labeling of all waste products and recyclables and ensure waste minimization is practiced wherever possible.  Adhere to all plant safety rules.

 

  1. Perform other assignments as directed by a management representative.

 

 

Position Requirements:

 

  1. High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  2. Ability to be licensed and drive a powered industrial truck.
  3. Ability to work all shifts.
  4. Ability to work overtime when necessary.      

 

 

Experience:

 

  1. Eight (8) years of mechanical/electrical experience.
  2. Previous experience in an automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
  3. Allen Bradley hardware/software experience preferred.

 

 

Skills:

  1. Blueprint reading.
  2. Knowledge and use of precision gauging equipment.
  3. Knowledge of machine tool operation, machine design and operation.
  4. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos preferred.
  5. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals preferred.
  6. Ability to work in a team or individual environment.
