ABOUT THE ROLE

The HR representative is responsible to champion execution of administrative, project, and program tasks related to the human resources function. With a thorough understanding of the site’s operations, productivity targets, processes/systems, and safety requirements, you ensure integration and alignment of people & strategic goals. The safety of our employees is our No 1 priority!

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts and/or assists in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of new salaried and hourly employees.
  • You are a key contributor to establish Tenneco culture in the plant. Working alongside the Plant HR Manager to lead employee engagement.
  • Administers hourly discipline, including Tenneco attendance policy, code of conduct, harassment free workplace, and other workplace rules. Counsels employees when necessary. 
  • Investigates union grievances and assists with arbitration preparation under the direction of the Human Resources Manager.
  • Coordinates with third party administrators to administer FMLA and STD/ LTD claim processes for all hourly and salaried employees.
  • With radical candor and emotional intelligence, you will estabilish clear and direct communication within the plant. 
  • Drive people development and coaching to enable goal cascading and elevate performance.
  • Maintains HRIS systems to ensure high quality of accurate data and compiles data to track trends in KPI’s.
  • Supervises the day to day activities of the Human Resources Department in the absence of the Human Resources Manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. 
  • Minimum 1-5 years of experience within HR function.
  • Strategic vision and communication skills.  
  • Proven experience supporting operational excellence within the manufacturing environment.
  • Ownership, proactive approach.
  • Ability to act with integrity and display a high level of confidentiality.
