JOB SUMMARY:

The ELECTRICAL CONTROLS ENGINEER is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and programming electrical controls and robotics in the facility. This position is also responsible for contributing to a safe work place and minimizing negative impacts by complying with the EHS policies, procedures, work instructions outlined in the EHSMS Training Assessment for this position.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • High line robot programmer, the ability to perform motion control and integrate FANUC,ABB,MOTOMAN, and TOSHIBA robots to promote safe , cost effective operations.
  • Electrical knowledge, ability to create, design, read prints, trouble shoot and reduces down time and assists the maintenance department to speed up repairs.
  • Ability to assist in the risk assessments of new cells for safety and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to produce and interpret electrical prints for better understanding and trouble shooting.
  • Ability to adapt, create and manipulate PLC, HMI and ROBOT programs for production needs.
  • The ability to integrate and install new cells from start to finish.
  • Able to build, wire and assemble complete electrical panels and electrical enclosures.

 

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Always looking to keep our company on the leading edge of all new automation and newest practices.
  • Work on constant improvement of all processes and cycle times.
  • Ability to read, write and understand electrical prints.
  • Full understanding of Three Phase, 120 VAC and small DC voltages.
  • Able to read, understand and write PLC programs, Siemens and Allen Bradley.
  • Full understand of robotics principles and programming.
  • Able to assist Production, Engineering and Maintenance on electrical and programming issues.
  • Good understanding of all automation devices.
  • Able to lead and manage new projects from electrical, robotic and programming roles.
  • Experience trouble shooting, design and programming skills for PLC and robotics.
  • Assist Maintenance department with troubleshooting and programming.
  • Design and build of electrical cabinets and its components.
  • Adaptability of any processors in our plant.
  • Full understanding of capital projects and ability to assist and find innovative ways to build on a limited budget.
  • Ability to communicate from upper end to floor and work with outside contractors.
  • Ability to chart and explore improvements.
  • Ability to explore and recommend better robust systems to stay on the leading edge of technology.
  • Able to implement and produce work instructions for our new processes.
  • Able to build and write electrical prints.
  • Able to work with the floor operators, Engineers and Management and produce a successful plan to assist all parties involved with very little down time.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • On call and ability to give phone support or come in when asked.
  • Ensures compliance with all EHSMS policies and procedures.
  • Instructs on safe work practices and promotes safety consciousness while practicing safety procedures, enforcing policy regarding safety and making recommendations when needed.
  • Sees that company policies and programs are effectively made known; cooperates and assists in the development of effective communications.
  • Promotes a positive employer-employee relation.
  • Capable of providing support as requested by supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related degree

EXPERIENCE:

3-5 years’ experience in Electrical or Controls Engineering position

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in inventory management systems (ERP,WMS,Plex) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent knowledge of PLC programs
  • Exceptional understanding of electrical power and hazards
  • Strong trouble shooting ability
