Based in Michigan, supports the North America Team

 

 I.  PURPOSE/SUMMARY

Providing technical and tactical support to the Clean Air AMER Manufacturing Operations Team with the goal of being “best in class” in the introduction and effectiveness of Tenneco EH&S strategies. Acting as bridge between the Global EH&S team and the manufacturing plants, with a focus on Plant execution EH&S initiatives.

 

II.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Focus on execution / implementation of the Tenneco EH&S strategy into Clean Air Manufacturing plants, as defined by the global EH&S team and the local Operations leadership. Ensure that all Clean Air Americas Manufacturing Plants quickly and effectively adopt all EH&S projects / strategies.

 

  • Alignment across all plants of the actions required to achieve zero incidents.
  • Ensure all required reporting is updated and accurate in a timely manner.
  • Tracking and follow up across all plants to ensure introduction timelines are met and actions closed.
  • Identify and correct knowledge gaps within plant teams.
  • Facilitate and “read across” of lessons learnt and follow up on the effectiveness at a plant level
     

 

III.   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Education and/or Experiences
  • Four (4) year degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline or equivalent; Relevant advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience with an emphasis in environmental, health and safety program management and employee training. 
  1. Requirements/Skills
  • Must have clear communication and writing skills in English.
  • Proficiency to convey information at multiple levels of the organization
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50% of the time with up to 75% travel to designated areas.
  • Strong team-building skills
    • Strong organizational skills including ability to manage large number of disparate projects and to track projects through completion
    • Working knowledge of cross-functional EHS disciplines
    • Adept at development and utilization of software solutions
    • Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
    • Ability to demonstrate managerial courage (e.g., managing varied interests representing potential conflicts)
    • Ability to lead and support cross-functional process improvement teams
    • Professional certification preferred (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or country equivalent).
    • Proficiency in local languages preferred
