RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate is responsible for implementing, coordinating, and managing supplier quality systems to improve the MP global supply base and customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate will work closely with key stakeholders in purchasing, engineering, supply chain, quality etc. to provide support for supplier quality systems globally. They will lead and drive improvements, facilitate best practices, establish, and implement rules, tools, and processes.
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:
- Deploys consistent supplier quality management systems throughout Motorparts and work on standardization throughout Tenneco.
- Identifies upcoming supplier quality initiatives and prepares the organization to meet / exceed requirements / standards.
- Support with supplier and customer system tools
- Lead improvements to establish consistent suppler requirements and compliance.
- Drive processes for supplier NPI/APQP
- Create and implement supplier quality strategies, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve supplier performance.
- Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities to contribute to overall business strategy.
- Participation to drive culture change to deliver strategic goals.
- Implement new supplier quality and customer processes and systems where appropriate.
- Ensure supplier and company compliance to legal requirements, customer specifications and standards.
- Participation in audits.
- Develop communication protocol relating to supplier quality processes across Motorparts.
- Training and Developing: Provide and or establish training in supplier quality systems and related areas such as APQP, Problem Solving, Statistical Process Control, Gage R&R and DOE, supplier quality systems, quality systems, auditor training and Effective Problem Solving.
- Develop and coordinate project management activities relating to supplier quality projects.
- This person should exhibit a managerial style promoting openness, problem ownership, data driven decisions-making and teamwork.

EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE
- Ten years’ previous experience in an automotive environment, where primary responsibilities were in a supplier quality / quality/ engineering related area.
- Working knowledge of quality assurance philosophy and problem-solving techniques.
- Demonstrated know-how of APQP, PPAP, Run@Rate
- ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 auditor.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with all levels of colleagues and customers.
- Certified 6 Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
- Skilled problem solver, understand and utilize continuous improvement tools such as 8-D/ EPS methodology.
- Strong team player with proven ability to work on cross functional teams with the ability to optimize team performance and development in a matrix management model.
- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate, and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
- Excellent computer literacy.
- Creative and innovative thinking with the ability to initiate, lead and sustain change.
- Potential to travel up to 30%.
