Position Summary
The Business Continuity Manager is responsible for safeguarding Tenneco’s operations by developing, implementing, and managing business continuity plans across manufacturing facilities. Reporting to the Executive Director of Business Continuity, this role focuses on ensuring the organization is prepared to respond effectively to potential disruptions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan Development & Implementation: Design and deploy tailored business continuity strategies to maintain critical operations during crises.
- Risk & Impact Analysis: Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify vulnerabilities, critical processes, and dependencies.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with facility leaders and cross-functional teams to execute continuity plans and align on recovery priorities.
- Training & Preparedness: Facilitate readiness workshops, provide education on continuity protocols, and lead table-top exercises to test and refine plans.
- Project Management: Oversee the end-to-end execution of continuity projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met while delivering high-quality results.
- Testing & Validation: Regularly test business continuity strategies and disaster recovery procedures, updating plans as needed to address evolving risks.
- Communication & Reporting: Deliver clear updates to stakeholders, summarize key outcomes in detailed reports, and escalate issues to leadership when necessary.
- Crisis Response: Act as a key point of contact during disruptions, ensuring coordinated responses and rapid recovery of operations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field; certifications like BCI, DRII, or PMP are a plus.
- Experience: Relevant experience in business continuity, project management, or risk assessment, with a focus on dynamic and matrixed environments.
- Skills:
- Strong planning, organizational, and project management abilities.
- Expertise in risk analysis, data synthesis, and impact assessments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and educate diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, and Smartsheet.
- Travel: Willingness to travel domestically up to 30%, occasionally with short notice.
