Scope:
At our plants in Glasgow KY/Smithville TN/Plymouth MI we manufacture Brake Pads as part of Performance Solutions – Braking. The plants have about 150 and 225 employees and the Plymouth Tech Center has about 25 employees. The HR Manager will oversee a team of 2 specialists. This candidate should be based within a commuting proximity to the TN and KY locations as travel to both sites will be required. This role will report to the Director of HR – Braking.
Purpose:
The HR manager is a critical component of a successful plant management team. With a thorough understanding of the site’s operations, productivity target, processes/systems, and safety requirements, you ensure integration and alignment of people & strategic goals. The safety of our employees is our No 1 priority!
- As a member of the plant management team you are contributing to all KPIs of the plant and driving people engagement and accountability.
- You are a key contributor to establish Tenneco culture in the plant. You will also help employees with individual development plans designed to foster organizational growth.
- With radical candor and emotional intelligence, you will establish clear and direct communication within the plant.
- Partner with the plant manager & other functional leaders to analyze & forecast workforce requirements. This role will lead execution of workforce planning objectives.
Key requirements:
- General min requirements (Bachelor/ Master or other qualification)
- Local/ legal min requirements/ certification
- Min 3-5 years of experience in leading an HR function within a plant environment.
- Operations/ manufacturing know how - business acumen
- Strategic vision and communication skills
- Proven experience pursuing operational excellence within the HR- manufacturing environment
- Ownership, proactive approach
