Job Summary
The Financial Analyst is responsible with assisting the department in the areas of general ledger management, payroll review and analysis, month end closing, fixed asset accounting and accounts payable while having a strong understanding of internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete SMT weekly projection to help meet budget
- Reconcile ADP payroll entry, reconcile entry to general ledger, and make necessary reclasses when necessary
- Assist payroll and KRONOS, as needed
- Review open capital projects with the engineering departments monthly, or as needed
- Meet with purchase service, as needed
- Ensure all capital projects are closed promptly and properly, including: gather invoices, update taxes and freight charges, create packet and send to project manager to review and create closure request.
- Maintain FA register—dispose assets, review for impairment, & update files for fixed asset inventory
- Update cash out for capital.
- Review payments and open PO’s to ensure facility is in line to meet corporate driven projections
- Complete tag control inventory
- Ensure that the yearly SOX project is completed accurately, timely, and efficiently.
- Complete month end closing responsibilities including: JE’s, settling CIP, maintain month end book, balance sheet recons, maintain month end check list, review check list for full details
- Update sales daily and report to management
- Update weekly projections for Flash by communicating with all departments on expenses
- Review the open PO report at the end of the month and discuss with the requisitioner on expected delivery.
- Review current processes and ensure sure we are following SOX, US GAAP and FM Policy.
- Review weekly invoice, account code all expenses, get the invoices prepared and ready to be sent to purchasing
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree accounting, finance or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance or accounting position
- Knowledge of specific principles and procedures of Accounting and Finance including federal and state policies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
