Basic Function: The Senior Production Team Leader is responsible for shift safety, quality, and production results. The Senior Production Team Leader will assign operators to machines and develop and track cross training throughout the production department. The Senior Production Team Leader is responsible for coordinating with other shift team leaders & setting the floor up for a successful daily production run, enforcing all company policies including health & safety, attendance, employment, work & pay conduct. The Senior Production Team Leader must motivate associates using human relation skills and maintain morale. The Senior Production Team Leader is responsible for the application of 5S and other lean manufacturing principles during his/her shift and must work as a team with other shifts to enhance the success of the entire production department.
Responsibilities:
Adhere to EH&S policy endorsed by the local management, comply with the legal and other requirements and operational controls established under its EHS Management System (EHSMS), work toward achieving established objectives and targets, and conform to procedures consistent with ISO and OHSAS standards. An employee should report and, if necessary, stop any activity that does not conform to the policy or may injure himself/herself.
Coordinate with support departments on production assignments & requirements to meet customer demands.
Coordinate with other shifts team leader to plan efficient daily production run.
Maintain a quality product to meet customer requirements.
Coordinate with support groups to improve safety, quality and productivity needs for the associates and customers.
Develop, train and monitor lean programs such as; 5S, Kaizen events, team meetings, problem solving, etc.
Coordinate housekeeping activates, operator PM program, forklift checklist program.
Conduct pre-shift meetings, employee meetings, and continuous improvement team meetings.
Train associates on safety issues, quality issues, equipment operation and company policies.
Provide timely reports on safety, quality and production.
Need to be a first responder and be part of safety cross functional teams.
Provide support to FMOS journey through continuous improvement program.
Provide counseling and appropriate discipline to associates on job performance, safety, quality, attendance and company policies.
Education: A college degree is preferred, although equivalent experience and technical education may meet the requirements to be successful. Testing and assessments may be required. A high school diploma is required.
Experience: 7+ years' of leadership/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Required Skills:
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to multitask and quickly adjust from one challenge to another
Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques
Must have the ability to proficiently learn and use computer programs such as MS Word and Excel
