We are looking for a Lead Operations Supervisor for our Frankfort, IN facility! The Lead Operations Supervisor at Tenneco Frankfort is responsible to oversee and lead the full plant operations primarily during the day shift. The hours for this role are Monday through Friday day shift. Interested applicants should also have weekend availability as there is flexibility to work hours outside of the referenced day shift hours. This includes the responsibility over the production supervisors, as well as responsibility for the production’s safety, quality, performance, and equipment effectiveness during that period. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment, ensuring adherence to process and procedure standards, and aiming for a highly cost-effective and competitive performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all aspects of the production operation’s safety, quality control, production, maintenance, and shipping/ receiving during off-shifts.
- Ensure the entire team understands their roles and responsibilities and follows their standard work routines – conduct regular meetings with supervisors and hourly employees to communicate required priorities and identify necessary actions
- Provide and oversee training for employees.
- Administer disciplinary action if required
- Fill in as shift supervisor for supervisor vacations & absences
- Attend shift change meeting to set/ revise daily production schedule
- Ensure lines are correctly staffed for the required shift production and the schedule is attained
- Facilitate problem solving and prioritizes resource allocations (in absence of plant manager)
- Coach and mentor supervisors and other hourly personnel to enhance individual and organizational performance
- Drive accountability and ownership
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5-10 years of manufacturing (or equivalent combination of formal education and experience). Experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated supervisory, organizational, interpersonal, computer (Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint), problem-solving and multi-tasking skills (leading minimum of 50+ associates)
- Basic understanding of OSHA, labor, and other state and federal regulations
- Understanding of basic machine operation principles – ideally CNC machining/ grinding and forging experience
- Ability to work effectively under stressful situations
- Prior experience in automotive supplier plant preferred
- Effective interpersonal skills, including both oral and written communications
- Strong presentation/ training skills with the ability to address large groups
- Energetic, self-starter
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to stay effectively organized
