Accountant – Frankfort, Indiana
Tenneco is one of the world’s largest pure-play powertrain companies serving OE markets worldwide with engineered solutions addressing fuel economy, power output, and criteria pollution requirements for gasoline, diesel and electrified powertrains.
We are looking for an Accountant for our Frankfort, Indiana plant to contribute to our Powertrain – Sealings & Gaskets business unit. This position reports directly to the Plant Controller. In this role, you must have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment, which is essential to your success at Tenneco.

- Responsibilities:
- Support month-end closing activities to ensure timely, accurate, and complaint reporting.
- Ensure financial reports accurately reflect financial performance in accordance with GAAP and Tenneco’s policies.
- Analyze financial results to identify trends and opportunities for improvements.
- Active contributor to the business planning processes (strategic plan, annual operating plan, and monthly forecasts).
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Plant Leadership, Production, HR, Quality, and Engineering to drive improvements .
- Partner with our corporate and shared-services teams on items including Payroll, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Lease Accounting.
- Proactively identify, research, and resolve issues as they arise.
- Create ad hoc reports, analysis, and special projects as required by management.
- Basic Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in similar role preferred.
- Experience with ERP and Financial Systems (PLEX, OneStream, and/or Power BI is a plus).
- Advanced MS Office Excel skills, including pivot tables and large data set analysis.
- Proficiency in analytics and problem solving.
- Familiarity with internal controls environment (Sarbanes Oxley).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines at once, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interface with a wide variety of internal and external contacts.
