MRS - Senior Commodity Buyer

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commodity Buyer to join our innovative and fast-paced team in the automotive industry.
As a Senior Commodity Buyer, you will be a key player in the strategic sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of critical commodities that support our production operations and supply chain. Your role will be essential in driving cost-efficiency, maintaining supply chain resilience, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end sourcing process for assigned commodities, including market analysis, supplier identification, RFIs/RFQs, negotiation, and contract finalization.
- Develop and execute comprehensive commodity sourcing strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives.
- Assess supplier capabilities, innovation potential, performance, and financial stability to build sustainable, long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including engineering, quality, and production—to ensure sourcing decisions meet both technical and quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize costs, enhance supplier performance, and streamline procurement processes.
- Monitor market trends, global supply chain dynamics, and geopolitical factors affecting the automotive sector to proactively manage risks and opportunities.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve optimal value while upholding quality standards.
- Manage and nurture supplier relationships, leading regular performance reviews to promote accountability and continuous improvement.
- Implement supplier diversification strategies to bolster ESG efforts and improve supply chain resilience.
- Support sourcing strategies for new product introductions and engineering changes.
- Contribute to the development of procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives to meet annual financial targets.
- Collaborate with manufacturing plants to resolve critical supply issues.
- Oversee tasks related to debit memos, receipt reconciliation, material rejection reports, and payables.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
- Travel as needed for supplier visits and industry events.
What Will Make You Successful
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or commodity buying within the automotive industry.
- Experience across various commodity categories is a plus.
- Deep understanding of automotive commodities, market trends, and supply chain dynamics.
- Proven negotiation skills, contract management experience, and expertise in managing supplier relationships.
- Fluency in English is required.

- Demonstrated success in achieving cost savings and driving process improvements through strategic sourcing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Strong project management capabilities, with experience managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficient in SAP and general purchasing systems; advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with BOMs, MRP, IATF 16949, and relevant automotive industry standards.
- Ability to interpret and communicate engineering drawings and specifications.
- Technical knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes is highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel to suppliers and industry events.
