Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads all business development activities related to COEM in the related region.
  • Actively seek and consolidate all COEM activities in the related region, identify opportunities, develop related strategies which lead to business pursuit and awards
  • Build customer relationships: develop local relationships with customer key contacts at various levels, as well as seek linkage to COEM HQ relationships
  • Build Tenneco brand and confidence global, and showcase Tenneco’s capability in AMER and EMEA throughout COEM oversea and HQ teams, lead workshops, tech day, roadshow and/or other activities as necessary
  • Become the internal customer champion within Tenneco, understand customer needs and ‌develop tailored services to educate internal teams and maximize our product value at customers
  • Win new programs:‌ Lead RFQ response by analyzing requirements, co-developing technical/financial proposals and negotiating contracts to achieve high win-rate
  • Build pipeline and track opportunities:‌ Monitor OEM purchasing plans via databases and customer communications to target bid opportunities
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams in the region
  • Strong link between China team and related regional team, actively monitor customer, market and competition development

 

Education Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, technical/engineering or Business background preferred.
  • Master’s degree preferred (Engineering or MBA) with strong capabilities to absorb technical information.

 

Functional Qualifications:

 

  • 10+ years working experience in automotive industry in sales, commercial, business development or related functions
  • 5+ years direct experience with Chinese local automotive OEM customers
  • Strong sales/business development expertise required, with proven experience of new customers or new market break through and new business awards
  • Deep knowledge of respective regional automotive markets (EMEA or North America, South America experience preferred)‌: Understand local competition and customer landscape with 5+ years’ experience in the region
  • Proactive mindset‌: Drive to challenge norms and capture market share with new approaches
  • Strong English and Chinese language and communication skills‌: Communicate clearly across functions and regions as business development lead
  • Capability and experience working with global structures / all regions
  • Ability to build networks internally and externally
  • Ability to drive and influence team members with the mindset of no excuses, target attainment. Passionate and team influencer capable of driving change and delivering targets
  • Solid target setting, data analytics and leadership
  • Strong communication, presentation skills and an executive presence
  • Experience in working with European or American automotive Tier 1 or OEM network is a strong plus
