Tenneco is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join the EMEA Tax Team. The role will be responsible for managing and coordinating tax matters across France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Sweden and the United Kingdom, with a strong focus on corporate income tax compliance, indirect tax matters, tax audits, advisory support, process improvement and risk management.
The Tax Manager will act as a key business partner for local finance teams, regional management, legal, external advisors and tax authorities. The role requires strong technical tax expertise, sound judgment, project management capabilities and the ability to operate effectively in a complex multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate corporate income tax matters as well as indirect taxes (VAT) for Tenneco entities in European Countries (e.g. France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Sweden) ensuring timely and accurate tax filings and reporting.
- Collaborate with local tax advisors and Big Four consultants where required, ensuring high-quality external support and efficient management of advisory projects.
- Provide tax advisory support for business transactions, restructurings, cross-border arrangements and operational initiatives in the assigned countries.
- Develop and support tax strategies to optimize tax positions, mitigate risks and improve cash flow, while ensuring compliance with applicable local laws, European tax rules, Tenneco policies and governmental regulations.
- Manage and support tax audits, inquiries and interactions with tax authorities, in close collaboration with local finance teams, legal, external advisors and auditors.
- Work closely with Finance, Legal, Sales, Operations and regional leadership to provide practical tax guidance and ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions.
- Monitor changes in local and European tax legislation and assess their impact on Tenneco's operations, tax positions, reporting obligations and business processes.
- Conduct tax research and analysis, prepare technical assessments and support management with clear recommendations on tax risks, opportunities and constraints.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or similar qualification, specialization in taxation or professional certification such as CPA, certified tax advisor or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate tax, preferably within a multinational company, Big Four firm or comparable international environment.
- Strong knowledge of corporate income tax and European tax systems; experience with one or more of France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Sweden or UK tax matters is preferred.
- Experience in tax compliance, tax audits, advisory projects and interaction with external advisors or tax authorities.
- Understanding of international tax principles, including OECD guidelines and transfer pricing concepts.
- Open to utilize technology, including AI and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluent English and French is mandatory.
