This is a great opportunity to join our Global Business Services Center in Bucharest as an Senior Accountant with German.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Interface between the accounts payable team in Bucharest and the team in Glinde offering assistance in the area of accounts payable
  • Continuous improvement of accounts payable processes
  • Allocation and posting of incoming invoices and invoice verification
  • Processing of the supplier reminders and solving the underlying problems
  • Solving VAT issues for the team in Bucharest in cooperation with the accounting management
  • Preparation of advance VAT returns and annual VAT declaration for the four German companies and the German VAT group
  • Preparation of reports on international payment transactions to the Deutsche Bundesbank
  • Control of the general ledger accounts for monthly and annual closing work
  • Control of the payment proposal lists from Bucharest Shared Service Center
  • Random check of payment entry (samples per payment run)
  • Control of the posted vendor invoices (sales tax, account assignment, vendor, etc.)
  • Reconciliation of the I/C accounts as part of the monthly closing
  • Balance verification with German and international vendors
  • Preparation of the data for the VAT declaration in Hungary in cooperation with the tax consultants in Hungary
  • Accounts payable confirmations
  • Monthly general ledger to subledger reconciliation

 

What will make you successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics  or related domain (Accounting, Banks)
  • At least 5 years accounting experience within a multinational environment/accounting services company
  • Experience in processing German VAT reports
  • Good knowledge of the German VAT law and German GAAP
  • Knowledge of the capital transaction reporting system of the German Federal Reserve
  • Experience with the SAP R3 system
  • Good Microsoft Office skills
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written German (ability to understand invoices, payment reminders, administrative files in German), as well as English
  • Hands on and problem solver mindset
  • Good communication and time-management skills
  • Tenacious and detail-orientated working style, with a drive to resolve issues
