This is a great opportunity to join our team in Bucharest as a Cost Modeling Analyst

As a Cost Modelling Analyst at DRiV, you will support the global purchasing team by creating cost models and recommendations on the most cost-effective solutions with the help of the available should-cost modelling technology. You will convert product specifications into cost estimates, support the stakeholders in decisions related to cost-effectiveness and help identify cost reduction opportunities. Due to the nature of this new role, your responsibilities will vary from ad hoc requests to more structured tasks. The work environment is heavily dynamic and fast-paced, often with minimal direction. Thus, the ability to manage through ambiguity and uncertainty, to be flexible to the needs of the global group, is the key to success as the Cost Modelling Analyst for the global purchasing team.

What you will do:

  • Determine cost estimate targets during the design and development process, recommending cost effective solutions.
  • Gather proposals, specifications, and related documents to liaise with stakeholders in order to convert specifications to cost estimates for new and current products.
  • Utilize cost methodologies, tools, and appropriate software models/packages to prepare and maintain reliable and accurate data.
  • Establish cost estimates of production processes and tooling costs, review alternatives or put forward recommendations for improvement.
  • Assess cost effectiveness of products and track actual costs relative to budget and report status on a regular basis to ensure costs are in line with forecasts.
  • Monitor and review data and information to detect or assess problems.
  • Investigate and identify cost reduction opportunities through cost analysis review.
  • Contribute to cost monitoring, reporting systems and procedures to monitor trends.

What will make you succesful:

  • Fluency in English is a must, both verbally and in writing.
  • General understanding of various products and production structures, with the ability to analyze and convert technical specifications into processes and sub-assemblies required.
  • Knowledge of engineering, preferably automotive/production engineering, or a background in product design/development is a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills with thorough knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • SAP, Business Warehouse, and similar systems capabilities are preferred, though training will be provided if needed — goal is to be able to become proficient with minimal oversight/training.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business-related field
  • 2-5 years of related experience in product design/development, product management, finance, purchasing or a similar role that depends heavily on engineering or should-cost modelling. Experience in the automotive industry preferred.
