Tenneco is looking for a Quality / EHS Engineer for Global Valve Systems Brunswick, Ohio plant. The Quality / EHS Engineer is responsible for analyzing engineering specifications and monitoring operational processes to develop and install quality control methods, practices and procedures for the Brunswick plant. This position will manage the Quality Management System from inception to production launch and throughout production cycle according to IATF 16949 and Tenneco quality standards for all processes, including stamping and assembly. The Quality Engineer will ensure system performance is evaluated, and areas needing improvement, from the receipt of raw material to shipment of product to the customer, are identified and addressed. The incumbent should have a commitment to excellence, be a good trainer and communicator. Strong leadership skills are necessary. The Qualityn / EHS Engineer is responsible for managing the organization’s customer focus and response to customer related quality issues and subsequent internal corrective actions. This position also will be responsible for development and administering plant safety and evironmental policies to ensure complianec with Tenneco, local, state, and federal regulations. This role will support the maintenance of the Brunswick EHS Managemetn System to assure compliance with requirements of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. This role will supervise one hourly quality inspector.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the plant’s Quality Management System.
- Lead plant Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for products and processes.
- Write and update standard operational procedures that control Quality Assurance and Measurement Systems.
- Initiate and lead cross-functional teams to effectively identify root cause on internal and/or external problems. Conduct corrective action follow-up, as well as lessons learned and read across on similar processes/products.
- Communicate to plant personnel on quality related issues through Quality Alerts, as well as promote quality awareness throughout the plant.
- Survey potential suppliers for quality capability.
- Frequent interface with Sales, Manufacturing, Quality and Materials Engineering departments. Interface directly with external customers and suppliers on quality related issues.
- Provide training and guidance to other employees.
- Lead plant-specific quality / EHS projects.
- Assist in administering plant safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Tenneco, local, state and federal regulations.
- Administer and maintain the facility’s EHS Management System in accordance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Conduct audits of the facility to identify gaps in the EHS Management System and control significant loss producing exposure.
- Promote and drive a continuous improvement culture for safety throughout the plant, providing recommendations for correcting safety hazards and unsafe behaviors and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain visibility on the shop floor.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technical field.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- At minimum: 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
- Quality Engineering experience in metal or automotive manufacturing preferred. Progressive stamping preferred.
- Thorough understanding of SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, Process/Product capability analysis, APQP, and customer specific requirements.
- Six Sigma training and Customer interface experience preferred.
- Experience with IATF 16949 or similar Quality Management Systems standards.
- Must be familiar with EHS-related local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Thorough understanding of problem-solving methodologies (8D, 3x5 Why, Ishikawa, etc.).
- Experience with 5S and LEAN techniques.
- Must have good verbal & written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
