Shipper/Receiver

 

Job description

 

A shipper/receiver transports materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations and responsible is for the accurate and timely receipt, storage, and shipment of materials and finished goods. This role ensures inventory accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with safety, quality, and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated locations.
  • Transports and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods via fork truck, manually, and/or using pallet jacks).
  • Collects and properly disposes of scrap
  • Prepare finished goods and materials for shipment per customer and carrier requirements.
  • Pick, pack, and stage orders accurately and on time.
  • Generate and verify shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, labels).
  • Load shipments using forklifts or pallet jacks while following safety procedures.
  • Coordinate shipments with carriers and internal departments.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a fork truck operator (6 months – 1 yr)
  • Shipping/receiving experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., constant use of protective gear)
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to lift to 40 lbs.
