Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for profitability and performance of assigned areas.
  • Provides the leadership needed to assure the understanding and use of constraint management in a connected process.

 

Specific Duties:

  • Ensures a safe working environment in the department by holding       supervisors accountable for compliance with all safety policies & procedures, prompt accident investigations, and corrections and closures of identified safety issues.
  • Promotes continuous improvement in safety and environmental areas.
  • Responsible for resolution of customer concerns.
  • Develops annual business plan (including capital and expense spending, labor, scrap, and supply spending).
  • Provides leadership for continuous improvement to the process and the     employees.
  • Contributes to establishment of policies and procedures.
  • Plans and directs with the assistance of subordinate supervisors the       manufacture of required quantity and quality of products necessary to fill customer orders.
  • Develops and establishes adequate controls and procedures relative to production activities.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and integrates various controlling reports concerned with production quality and quantity and budget expenditures.
  • Reviews major expenditure requests for tools, fixtures, etc.
  • Makes recommendations for and requests purchase of capital expenditure    equipment.
  • Responsible for safety and good housekeeping in the manufacturing area.
  • Keeps informed of current developments in production management techniques and incorporates developments applicable to plant activities.
  • Administers personnel policies within the department.
  • Selects, trains, and develops subordinates.

 

Education

  • 4-year college degree preferred. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience

  •  Five years of experience in Manufacturing/Manufacturing Management.
