Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician (Maintenance I) to support equipment reliability and facility operations within our manufacturing plant. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. This position plays a critical role in ensuring minimal downtime and maximum equipment efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment, machinery, and building systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in a manufacturing environment.
- Repair or replace faulty components, such as motors, sensors, belts, gearboxes, and valves.
- Operate and maintain tools and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, torque wrenches, and calipers.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Support installation and setup of new machinery and equipment.
- Log maintenance activities and parts usage in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and assist in minimizing production downtime.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve recurring issues.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA, and facility-specific protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
- Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, HVAC systems, and automated machinery is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills for entering maintenance records and reports.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work shift, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand, walk, climb, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Lift or move objects up to 50 lbs.
- Work in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, noise, humidity).
- Use ladders, lifts, and hand/power tools safely.
