JOB DESCRIPTION
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a motivated and hands‑on Production Engineer to support shop‑floor manufacturing operations, ensure achievement of production targets, and maintain high standards of quality, safety, and productivity. The role focuses on machine setup optimization, operator training, continuous improvement initiatives, and close coordination with supervisors to drive operational excellence.
The Production Engineer will play a key role in minimizing downtime, improving process efficiency, and supporting customer quality requirements through structured problem‑solving and lean manufacturing practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production & Process Management
- Perform and validate machine set‑up changes, tooling adjustments, and process parameter settings to ensure efficient and stable production.
- Ensure achievement of daily and monthly production targets while maintaining required quality standards.
- Minimize downtime caused by set‑up checks, breakdowns, tooling changes, and process deviations through preventive actions.
- Support supervisors in production planning and execution, ensuring optimal utilization of manpower and machines.
Continuous Improvement
- Ensure quality of parts produced by adhering to defined process controls, inspection methods, and quality standards.
- Implement and sustain production and quality systems, including:
- 5S
- Kanban
- Kaizen
- Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Identify root causes of defects and process issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support customer‑related quality issues by coordinating internal actions and ensuring timely resolution.
People & Team Leadership
- Train operators on efficient machine operation, work instructions, quality expectations, and safety practices.
- Lead and support the team in the assigned area, promoting productivity, discipline, and engagement.
- Reinforce standard work practices and ensure adherence to SOPs.
- Act as a technical and process support to line supervisors and operators.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, SOPs, and plant guidelines.
- Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and implementation of safety improvements.
- Promote a culture of safe working practices on the shop floor.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Educational Qualification
- Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline (mandatory).
Experience
- 2–6 years of relevant experience in manufacturing / production
- Experience in machine setups, tooling, process improvement, and shop‑floor operations.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and machine operations
- Hands‑on experience with continuous improvement tools (5S, Kaizen, Kanban)
- Ability to troubleshoot machine and process issues
- Knowledge of quality systems and basic problem‑solving techniques
- Good communication and training skills
- Ability to work closely with supervisors, operators, and cross‑functional teams
- Proactive, detail‑oriented, and result‑focused
- Willingness to work in a fast‑paced production environment
- Salary Band : ₹6.0 LPA – ₹8.0 LPA (depending on experience, skills, and role fit)
