Position: Sr. Manager - Machine Building Division, Job grade B11

DIMENSION OF THE JOB

This position will provide strategic leadership and end-to-end accountability for the Machine Building function, encompassing project execution, engineering integration, manufacturing, assembly, testing, commissioning, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role is responsible for driving organizational growth through efficient execution of capital projects, technology adoption, cost optimization, and development of high-performing teams while ensuring delivery excellence, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

 

MAJOR ROLE OF THE POSITION:

Strategic & Business Leadership

  • Define and execute the Machine Building strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead annual business planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and capital investments.
  • Drive profitability, productivity, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Champion technology adoption, automation, in line with Industry 4.0 guidelines.

Project & Operations Management

  • Oversee successful execution of machine-building projects from concept to commissioning.
  • Ensure delivery of projects within agreed timelines, budget, quality, and performance parameters.
  • Optimize manufacturing, assembly, testing, integration, and commissioning processes.
  • Establish governance mechanisms to monitor project and operational performance.

CFT

  • Partner with MEG, Production and Safety functions to align the machine capability requirement
  • Drive technology benchmark and create qualitative cost-effective solution
  • Drive cost optimization, value engineering, and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor project costing, operational efficiency, and financial performance.

Operational Excellence

  • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement programs.
  • Standardize processes and implement best practices across machine-building operations.
  • Leverage data analytics to drive decision-making and performance improvement.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Foster a culture of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive 5S, process discipline, risk management, and audit effectiveness.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational and customer quality standards.

Stakeholder Management

  • Manage key stakeholder relationships and executive-level engagements.
  • Support business growth through technical leadership and strategic customer partnerships.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and successful project outcomes.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build and lead high-performing teams through coaching, succession planning, and capability development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Strengthen leadership pipelines and organizational capability.

 

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's Degree/MBA preferred).
  • 20+ years of experience in Machine Building/SPM, Industrial Automation, or Capital Equipment industries.
  • Proven leadership experience managing large-scale machine-building operations and complex projects.
