Job summary:

The Vehicle Dynamics Engineer is part of the Global Engineering R&D team in Tenneco Ride Performance, responsible for the vehicle performance definition & achievement in the suspension systems developments.

Job responsibilities:

Supports the R&D advanced product engineering team in the definitions of vehicle dynamics performance targets, system architecture for new projects and improve-ments of existing products. Facilitates the understanding of damper system perfor-mance influences on vehicle dynamics. 
•    Takes the lead in setting key product performance criteria for vehicle dynamics.
•    Create methodology & definitions to set objective performance crite-ria for vehicle performances (ride comfort & handling)
•    Support new technology developments (in hardware & software) for vehicle performance target achievements
•     Completion of subjective & objective vehicle performance evalua-tions and measurements
•    Act as point of reference in case of vehicle dynamics related per-formance issues
•    Define proper system architecture to ensure best possible integration of the product onto the vehicle:
•    Lead development team in their understanding of the implications involved when integrating the product into the vehicle suspension
•    Support benchmarking activities to understand market trends in sys-tem architecture
•    Support the development team in the area of vehicle dynamics simulation:
•    Develop the methodology to simulate vehicle dynamics performance from a product performance point of view
•    Ensure the proper cascading of vehicle performance targets to product performance targets

Qualifications:
•    Master degree; preferably in mechanical or electro-mechanical area.
•    +3 years experience in vehicle dynamics & simulation in the automotive indus-try is a must, experience at a car manufacturer is an advantage 
•    Good analytical skills, good problem solving techniques, results oriented, good listener.
•    Process oriented
•    Good communication skills and able to operate independently within a Team structure
•    Experience with software packages such as Carsim, Carmaker, Adams, Sim-pack or LMS Imagine.Lab, Matlab/Simulink is an advantage 
•    Ability to travel is necessary (Above% 60) 
•    Fluent English is key;
