Job Overview/ Purpose of the Role:


Program Purchase Buyer will be responsible for Generating RFQ’s in Tenneco Web portal and preparing CER’s. He will be responsible for new parts development in line with APQP process. Need to work closely with Engineering and Program management for Part development process after Business award and coordinate for all parts PPAP approvals and smooth launch. He needs to ensure part capacity of all new developments before handing over to Plant SCM. He will be responsible to track CER from Quoted stage to till product Launch.

 

Key Responsibilities

•    RFQ through Tenneco web portal data base
•    Cost estimation reports, with zero base costing details for proto and mass production, year on year reduction negotiation with suppliers 3% for 3 years.
•    New part development process through APQP process and follow TEN PLUS.
•    Project risk analysis and on timely escalation and communications
•    On time PPAP approvals for all new parts
•    Project tracking through RGY process, and Smooth project Launch
•    CER tracking of all new projects from quoted stage to till Launch.
•    Tool cost estimation and negotiation for proto and mass production, Capex approvals, PO processing and Tool tag submission to customers.
•    All process approvals in line with Tenneco Global systems & procedures


Qualifications (Education/ Experience/ Key Competencies)


•    BE in Mechanical Engineering
•    12 to 18 years 


Skills:

  • Preferably with Auto parts purchase background, with knowledge of stampings, NVH, Plastic, Tube, forgings & machined components
  • Familiar with Engineering drawings, Material grades and specs, part validation and testing requirements, material, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Good excel and PPT knowledge.
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams and readiness on supplier visit travels.
