In this role as a Commodity Manager will oversee the purchase of commodities , more specifically braking pads back plates , define the commodity strategy to secure company objectives , and liaise with suppliers to ensure the stability of our supply chain. Ou will be also responsible to manage the assigned spend coordinating the resources allocated to the commodity.

To ensure success as a commodity manager, you should have strong business acumen and excellent knowledge of commodity markets. Ultimately, a top-notch commodity manager should be able to effectively navigate market risks to help the business reach its commodity goals.

Commodity Manager main Responsibilities:

  • Defining the commodity strategy to be deployed across company that will ensure company objectives achievement .
  • Managing the company supply chain by sourcing, reviewing, and purchasing commodities.
  • Evaluating, selecting, and recommending new vendors to management.
  • Negotiating favourable prices and terms of purchase to maximize best commodity sourcing practices.
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with commodity suppliers and distributors.
  • Studying market trends and identifying any risks when sourcing and procuring commodities.
  • Supervising department personnel when they prepare contracts and purchase orders.
  • Building and managing the Roadmap tool to tracks and monitor actions to improve PPV.
  • Resolving vendor disputes and any commodity-related issues.
  • Defining the approved Bid List to be used for new programs sourcings.

Commodity Manager Requirements:

  • Master degree, Engineering background.
  • At least five years' experience in supply chain or commodity management.
  • Solid knowledge of financial markets that influence commodity prices.
  • Good negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers.
  • Advanced analytical skills. Data driven personality.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work well with subordinate personnel from various departments.
  • Ready for frequent travelling .
  • Full proficiency in English language .
  • Based in Badalona office .
