For our location in Glinde near Hamburg, Germany, we are looking for a full-time employee to start as soon as possible as a Product Engineer.

 

Role Purpose

You are a Core Team member of the Global Engineering Team, and you will drive the development of innovative & cost-effective NAO and Low Steel products / Hybrids in close cooperation with OE/S Engineering and drive VAVE activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Realize product strategy for OE/S globally together with OE/S Engineering
  • Conduct core development of new friction materials
  • Run customer development of new Products for OE/OES programs according to customer specifications
  • Support manufacturing sites globally during the launch of new NAO and LowSteel projects
  • Support cost reduction and localization efforts for chemicals
  • Assuring  together  with  Process  engineering, a  flawless  transition  from  prototyping  into manufacturing globally
  • Follow Program Management Discipline for all projects

 

 

What will make you successful

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience in Friction-engineering
  • Experimental design and structured development approach
  • Knowledge of friction material development, especially in formulating and processing
  • Computer literature with the ability to maintain accurate records ability to work with state-of-the-art IT-Systems
  • Team player with the ability to work in a matrix environment with different reporting lines
  • Open-minded to cooperating in cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, AME, Purchasing, Quality)
  • Flexible and curious to learn and adapt new things every day
  • Able to communicate effectively, demonstrate excellent verbal and numerical skills
  • The attitude and will to make a difference, problem solver with a systematic approach and an eye for detail
  • Willing to travel globally
  • Fluent in the English and German language
