What you will do

 

  • Component Sourcing and Launch: Procure new components within cost targets and timelines, ensuring quality and capacity requirements are met for successful launches.
  • Cost Target Collaboration: Work with the Project Team to establish cost targets before customer quoting, providing cost estimates based on product and cost structure understanding.
  • Supplier Proposal Evaluation: Evaluate supplier proposals and recommend options aligned with project expectations for cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Strategic Support and Reporting: Contribute insights and reports to BU strategy meetings for NPI, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Price Maintenance and Forecasting: Update commercial figures promptly based on market conditions, and prepare forecasts for cost trends.
  • Capacity Management: Collaborate with suppliers to maintain or install sufficient capacity to meet demand.
  • APQP Process Oversight: Manage APQP purchasing activities until supplier launch, ensuring adherence to process guidelines.
  • Conflict Resolution and Support: Escalate and address unresolved conflicts related to NPI within the BU or with direct materials Commodities.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Guide strategic partnerships with suppliers to enhance commodities strategies and foster long-term relationships.

 

 

What can make you successful

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business / Materials Management or Logistics required with a preference for an MBA.

  • Few years of experience in Purchasing/Procurement and / or a Materials Management related field with a preference towards high volume manufacturing industries.

  • Strong background and proven experience with high level supplier negotiations and materials management.

  • Possess ability to assess supply market trends and characteristics.

  • Fluent English, good command of German.
