Value Stream Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directly supervises Production supervisors, quality engineers, manufacturing engineers, and non-salaried employees.

• Supervises and coordinates activities of a department or business unit consisting of a team of employees to produce quality parts to satisfy our customer.
• Assist in establishing work procedures and policies that help ensure an efficient operation.
• Ensure work is scheduled properly to expedite workflow and meet all customer requirement specifications.
• Issue and/or approve written/oral instructions.
• Assign duties/maintain harmony, professionalism, and efficiency among employees.
• Use sound judgement, interpretation or consequences and current practices to arrive at the best solution.
• Responsible for ensuring customer requirements are met.
• Handle/store hazardous waste in a complaint manner with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Prepare reports, analyze data, and present to management.
• Assist subordinates in performing duties.
• Responsible for assuring employees are properly trained.
• Responsible for maintaining safe working conditions and enforcing safety policy.

• May give certain authority to assigned staff within their job scope to perform duties, make decisions, and use independent judgments.
• All employees will abide by the plant’s safety policy, comply with the legal and other requirements and operational controls established, work toward achieving established objectives and targets, and conform to procedures consistent with the ISO 14001 standard.  An employee should report, and if necessary stop, any activity that does not conform to the policy or may injure himself/herself.
• Capable of providing support as requested by any leader.

EDUCATION:

Bachelors Degree in related field preferred or comparable experience in key value stream role.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Two or more years experience in a plant or general manager role in a manufacturing environment. Must have working knowledge of lean production systems. Previous supervision experience is a plus.
