The Continuous Improvement Engineering Manager is responsible for all aspects relating to Engineering Services

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Coaches and enforces plant safety policy and safe work methods
  2. Coaches and enforces ISO / TS 16949 & ISO-14001 principles
  3. Coaches and enforces the use of work orders for all work (MP2 system)
  4. Coaches and enforces the correct use of the Supply Crib (MP2 system)
  5. Coaches and enforces the correct use of the TCR & ECR system
  6. Coaches and enforces clean work area
  7. Coaches and enforces correct machine / tool repair (method & quality of work)
  8. Coaches and enforces correct machine / tool preventative maintenance (method & quality of work)
  9. Coaches and enforces efficiency (continual improvement)
  10. Responsible for Tool room and Samples labor planning
  11. Responsible for Tool room, Project, Samples and PII spending budgets
  12. Follows all plant safety policies
  13. Keeps work area clean and organized
  14. May be given certain authority within job scope by Manager

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

 

The Continuous Improvement Engineering Manager is responsible for all salary employees and all materials required by Maintenance, Tool room and Samples.  The Engineering Services Manager is a back-up supervisor for the Tool room, Maintenance and Samples Supervisor.

 

 

Qualification Requirements:

 

  1. Proficient in the use of computers
  2. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Out-Look
  3. Proficient at typing

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Education and/or Experience:

 

  1. High School graduate or equivalent
  2. Associate or Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  3. Minimum 5 years experience as Engineer Supervisor in Manufacturing

 

 

Reasoning Ability:

 

  1. Ability to read and understand tool / machine drawings in order to order materials & components
  2. Ability to read and understand tool / machine drawings in order to coach employees to build new tools / machines
  3. Ability to read and understand tool / machine drawings in order to develop solution to failures (tool & product)

Other Skills and Abilities:

 

  1. The Engineering Manager must be able to perform job functions in parallel.  (Multi-tasking)
  2. The Engineering Manger must be self supervised
  3. The Engineering Manger must have professional oral and written communication skills
  4. The Engineering Manager must have excellent leadership skills

 

 

Physical Demands:

 

The physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  While performing this job the employee will be:

 

  1. Sitting at Computer, Standing, Walking, Bending, Lifting and using Stairs to perform job
  2. Maximum lifting will be 30 pounds
  3. Most Work will be on concrete floors or Asphalt

 

 

Work Environment:

 

  1. The Engineering Manger will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and safety shoes
  2. The facility is temperature controlled; the normal temperature is approximately 68F during the winter and 85F during the summer
  3. Daily work involves working with grease, oils and other manufacturing related chemicals
