We are looking for a Plant Controller. The Plant controller provides financial guidance and assistance to the plant and business unit management.  Develop and maintain procedures for the financial control of all plant assets, revenues and operating expenses.  Develop plant overhead rates and annual operating plan.  Responsible for the accuracy of the plant’s accounting methods, accounting records, and financial reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

  • Establish procedures to ensure sound financial control of plant assets.  Review and upgrade cost and general accounting activities to ensure all systems are properly developed and maintained to meet business unit financial reporting timetables.
  • Supervise the preparation and interpretation of plant financial statements.  Direct the preparation of interpretive financial analysis of plant operations.  Analyze and counsel Plant Manager on variances from the plan.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the plant’s annual operating plan.
  • Analyze and calculate plant overhead rates.
  • Evaluate and assist in the preparation of capital expenditure requests.
  • Direct the annual physical inventory.
  • Recruit, train and develop plant financial personnel.
  • Insure the plants accounting and reporting follow GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and the Tenneco Automotive accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provide financial information to management and other personnel outside the plant.
  • Support operations/manufacturing activities to achieve production output, productivity and employee satisfaction goals.
  • All other duties as may be assigned.

 

 

EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, MBA or CPA desirable.

 

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

 

 

  • Three to five years experience in Cost Accounting and Budgeting in a manufacturing environment.  Supervisory experience desirable.
  • Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other industry standards relating to accounting policies and procedures. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office  and mainframe-based accounting systems are required. BPCS, SAP and OneStream experience is helpful.
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex financial data to the organization. Ability to organize written communication and deliver well-prepared presentations.
  • Ability to analyze issues from business, technical, customer, and organizational perspectives.
  • Ability to forge strong relationships; establish rapport; relate to others with diverse backgrounds in a friendly and respectful manner.
  • Ability to translate broad strategies into specific objectives and action plans, align the organization to support strategic priorities.
