5-S Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:
The 5-S Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the ongoing development, implementation, and maintenance of 5-S and Continuous Improvement defined by P3. Proactively facilitates, coordinates, & leads all 5-S efforts at Tenneco, Angola. Work with plant leadership to continually improve systems, organization, & culture of continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine 5-S audits of the plant and maintain action list of identified non-conformities.
- Effectively communicate ideas, scheduling, maintenance of plant 5-S.
- Assist in new-hire 5-S training and follow-up interaction for new employees as necessary.
- Work closely with Operations Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, & shift Group Leaders to develop PM’s in work order system to standardized floor coating.
- Work closely with Operations Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, & shift Group Leaders to develop PM’s in work order system to standardize timing for ceiling cleaning & painting.
- Ability and willingness to use hand/power tools to perform light maintenance work as it pertains to 5-S projects.
- Develop PM’s for wall cleaning & painting.
- Assist plant leadership in implementing & maintaining Focus Factory methodology.
- Plan, Organize, Champion, & Complete all major 5-S projects within the facility.
- Work closely with MRO Buyer to identify cost saving opportunities and maintain specific inventories of 5-S supplies. Develop system to maintain control of 5-S supplies for all major 5-S projects.
- Inspect entire premises monthly to identify systemic gaps in 5-S culture. Work with Operations Manager to develop corrective actions to resolve these issues.
- Work with TM’s within the specific departments to create an environment of true 5-S. (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, & Sustain). With the ultimate goal being the individual work areas “sustaining” their own areas.
- Work with group leaders to update WINs as needed.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement portion of Operations BOS Team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED certification.
- Computer skills (Excel, Word, Email)
- Good communication skills (written & oral) and strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to assist with new employee orientation activities.
- Knowledge of and commitment to Tenneco’s safety policies/procedures and Plant Safety Rules.
- Certified in the use of JLG/Scissor Lift, Sit Down Forklift, & Stand-Up Forklift (or willingness to be trained on all)
- Dependability, creativity, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Self-starter, motivator, and teamwork-builder with a strategic focus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Tenneco, Angola’s manufacturing processes.
- Efficient organizational & analytical skills.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Ability to flex work hours to complete tasks in an efficient & timely manner.
