We’re looking for a Snr Welding Engineer to join our Clean Air Aguascalientes (Parque FINSA) team!

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Electronics, Mechanics and/or related.
  • Experience: 5 years in a similar position in the automotive industry.
  • Advanced English.
  • Advanced knowledge in GMAW, GTAW and SPOT
  • Core Tools (FMEA, APQP, MSA, SPC) and AIAG.
  • Advanced SAP
  • Poka-yoke systems.
  • IATF 16949 quality standards.
  • ISO 14001 standards.
  • Lean tools (STD Work, VSM, 5s, Kan ban, TPM, SMED, line balancing).
  • Automatic welding with Fanuc and Yaskawa robotic assistance programming.
  • GD&T.
  • Problem-solving tools.
  • Time and motion analysis and line balancing.
  • CSR (as applicable).
  • IMDS
  • AutoCAD
  • Programming robots and CNC machines
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
  • CQI-15.

Preferred

  • Six sigma (Black Belt)
  • CWI certification required.

 

Functions:

    • Comply with and enforce company policies, procedures, and plant regulations.
    • Collaborate with the company to meet all requirements of our quality, environmental (IATF16949, ISO14001), safety, and hygiene management systems determined by all stakeholders. Likewise, the company has the authority to stop the process in the event of an environmental or quality risk.
    • Maintain updated process control documentation.
    • Validate quality criteria for welding process applications.
    • Update and improve robot programs for welding applications.
    • Document all procedures in the Quality Management System.
    • Prepare WPSs and PQRs.
    • Provide on-site technical support for welding issues.
    • Prepare documentation for new Poka Yokes created due to improvements, complaints, and engineering changes.
    • Review drawings for new projects, transfers, and engineering changes.
    • Establish welding parameters and conditions for automatic and manual production processes.
    • Train personnel on technical aspects of the processes.
    • Integrate welding machines and tools into robotic processes.
    • Conduct appropriate studies based on the information obtained during testing, such as R&R studies, Pareto and trend analyses, SMED, and FTT.
    • Generate and monitor MOC actions.
    • Prepare the MOC for internal/external projects and engineering changes.
    • Perform process release runs, analyzing the results obtained and ensuring compliance with the Rates and CPKs shown in the project cost models.
    • Reduce process variation.
